Elizabeth Nestlerode, Teaching Artist
Elizabeth Nestlerode studied classical piano for 10 years prior to attending the University of Miami where she received a BFA in Musical Theatre, which included studies in music theory, and accompanying. She has taught locally, nationally, and internationally. In addition to teaching private piano, music theory, and composition lessons, she has been a Teaching Artist for Disney Theatrical Group in New York City for the last 10 years. She has directed and music directed productions, and accompanied auditions in NYC. She ran an after-school musical theatre program at a private school in Manhattan. She spent four summers teaching at The American School In Switzerland where she wrote and directed world-premiere musicals, which were performed by a cast of children from around the world. She has also directed, music directed, and taught at ArteCentro Paiz in Guatemala City, Guatemala, University of Miami, Trinity Lutheran College, Cape Playhouse, Bucks County Student Theatre Festival, Adirondack Lakes Summer Theater Festival, ArtsWest Theater, Village Theatre KIDSTAGE, Madrona Children’s Theater, Grace Church School, Avenues, First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn, and the Edmonds United Methodist Church Children’s Choir among others.
